Tulelake Potato Distributors, inc. (TPD) dba Klamath's Best Marketing are known for their fresh pack potato products across the United States. We supply retail grocery stores, 5 star restaurants, and various institutions with high quality potato varieties in various packaging weights and styles. This division was formed in 1988.
Klamath's Best Marketing, Fresh Cut Potato Division, LLC (KBMFC), is a partnership owned primarily by potato producers in the Tulelake/Klamath Basin area. The administration and owners of KBMFC have 3 generations of produce experience and over 50 years of farming history in this valley. Always keeping their eye on the future, these families came together in 1998 to form KBMFC. KBMFC was established to be a forerunner in this trend by adding value to fresh potatoes by offering a fresh cut potato and a blanched cut process, for the ease of handling and for the economy of labor for our customers.
Our Facilities
Both of our facilities are located in Tulelake, California. This rural farming community has an ideal proximity to both the producers who provide our raw product and to our customers. All this insures that we are able to deliver you the absolute freshest product possible.
TPD is located at the front of town as you enter from the main highway, emphasizing the agricultural focus of this community. This facility brings in the raw potatoes of various varieties, only hours old from the field, washes, sorts and packs them into bags, bales or cartons. They are now ready for distribution as a whole product.
KBMFC is a state of the art processing facility and was constructed from an existing fresh potato processing building. The remodeling of the plant and equipment cost more than $3 million dollars. Our equipment has been developed and manufactured by the Finis Company in Holland. Finis has been at the forefront of the processing technology for over 200 years and introduced the first fresh vegetable processing equipment into the United States. We use this stainless steel cutting equipment to process a variety of vegetables in almost any cut.
Our Motto
'Potatoes by Design' because we produce whatever cut the customer wants, in any variety of potato; skin on or off, fresh or cooked, or just fresh from the fields. They design it, we make it.
Mission Statement
Our goal is to provide our customers with the freshest, best tasting product possible by controlling the production of the vegetable, from the time it is a seed in the ground to the moment our customer receives it. We do this by following our strict Sanitation Policy and HACCP plan, neither of which is yet to be required by law. We plan to always be a step ahead of these industry standards so that we will never have to divert our attention away from our customers' needs.
